A fresh start

The new school year is under way, and I think that this is going to be the best school year yet. I've decided to follow my heart and recently submitted my application to the sociology department. I'm eagerly awaiting the letter that tells me that I'm officially admitted. Even though this will put me a bit behind, I think it's best to follow my heart now and get myself set in the right direction. The Sociology department isn't anything acclaimed or amazing... but the professors and the mentors that are there are what truly makes it unique. I have learned more from a single instructor in the last 8 months than I have in all of my previous classes combined. I'm finally delving into topics that rile me up and get me interested. For the first time, I look forward to daily readings in the classes... like my brother says, it's an anomaly to think that one can go to school for something s/he actually likes! All too often people tend to rush academia. If I've learned one lesson over the course of the last years, it is to never rush academia or the learning process. It is tedious and time-consuming, but the results that are produced are worth it. I'm what I like to call, an "Education Activist." I'm all for life-long learning.
I've also become more organized with my time. Even though it's been hard for me to get into a routine schedule, I find that it has helped me stay motivated for the week's adventures. I'm going to try my best to continue with the extra sleep, healthy food and exercise that I've recently taken up. I'll be sure to let everyone know how this endeavor goes. But, until later, this is me, signing off.
